ESC Compatibility Issues

There is a lot of discussion on the Phantompilots forum and the DJI forum regarding ESC issues with the new 2312 motors.
Some people have ESC's labeled with V2.0 or V2.1 on the sticker on the ESC. Some (like mine) have no version number listed.
Mine is a Phantom 2 V2. Purchased directly from DJI in late December 2014.

There is a chart going around that indicates that no version on the sticker means it is not compatible with the new motors.
The chart warns that the wrong ESC's can make the Phantom unstable and cause it to crash. Apparently the chart is included
in the 2312 motor upgrade kit but I have no confirmation of this.
Answers from DJI are difficult to come by, I have been exchanging emails but I'm not making any progress.

I found your site when I was doing research and learning about Phantoms before mine arrived and today saw you had a forum.

I thought I would pose the question here to see if you could enlighten me with any information regarding the issue.
I've only flown mine a few times and I'm not experiencing any problems.
